Unhappy Love in The Spring
If I listen very carefully I can hear the spring coming. The Elm trees recite their love poems, while spreading their pollen into the air. The garden has taken on spring colours, and the birds are returning from the south, but the butterflies haven't got wings jet, and the Hedge-hog is still asleep. King Winter has retreated further to the north. Hopefully he will be able to keep the polar bears safe from the global warming a little longer! So please remember to take care of Mother Nature!
Ebbe is awake most of the day now, and I have started a new painting of him, he is growing fast, and his dropped wings have been replaced with new and larger wings.
Since my last blog I have visited Apple Hold Castle, where I attended the Snow Drop Ball. As ambassador of Dragonian I wore a dress in the Dragonian colors; purple and yellow. Entering the throne hall was an amazing sight. King Applestrong and Queen Agrafina sat on their thrones, and all the guests had to pass them in an endless line. We all had to bow for both of them, and in some cases the King or Queen would grant the guest a few words.
I couldn't take my eyes of the Queen; she looked so white and cold. When she looked at me, I felt a chill. Her green eyes looked up and down my dress, and I could see envy and greed in them. The King didn't look at me at all when I passed him; he just sat there on his throne staring into the floor. After the greetings the dance started. The fairies danced around a big cake in the middle of the hall to a strange kind of music that I never had heard before. To me there were no melody; it was like a spring morning in the forest, with the birds singing, and the sound of dripping water from melting ice and snow, but jet there was a rhythm to the sounds that made it possible to dance to the music.
Later when the dance had been going on for some time, and the fairies had started to eat the cake, I sneaked up to the throne to take a look at the King one more time. I was terrified when I saw blood dripping from his chest. I called one of the guards as I thought he had been killed. The guards asked me to follow them out side the throne hall, where they explained to me, that his heart was eking because the Queen doesn't love him. The King and Queen have no children, and there have been rumors that the King spends more and more time in Alfenheim.
After the dance one of the queen's guards called me, and gave me an invitation to the Queens court. The invitation didn't look friendly; it looked more like an order. I was to go to the Queen's court the next day. I was to dress in the queens color white, and to bring her a gift from the gift list on the invitation. The gift list was an endless list of fashion magazines and strange things like: blue and yellow mist roses, flaming seahorse wings, dragonflies covered in white stardust, black penguin feathers with lavender fragrance, and black snail houses with white windows and red pipes.
I had no idea where to get any of the things on the list, so I decided to go back to The Gnomes Inn for the night to find Mama Kauppa to get some advice on what to bring the queen, and to see if I could find out more about the rumors about the King.
When I got to The Gnomes Inn, the inn keeper gave me a whispering leaf with a message from Danagonia, asking me to come home, because Ebbe was crying, so I took the Bat Tube back home. Ebbe was hurting on his back, because his new wings are growing so fast, so I gave him a cold wrap to take away the pain. We had a restless night, and I didn't manage to find a gift for the queen or learn more about the king and Queen. I decided to go to the queen's court unprepared, trusting my own instincts, and to bring the queen a gift from the human world that I was sure she had never seen before.
I will tell you all about my visit to the Queens Court later! Until then stay in the magic
