I have created the fantasy and fairy name creator, mainly for my fairy tale writing. I have tried many online fantasy name generators, but found that most of them were plain stupid. The names were just random shuffled words that gave no meaning what so ever, or they were more or less tedious names. I wanted to give my characters names that would fit their personality, so I started to create lists of plants, animals, gemstones and old mythological names. I found descriptions of what all the names and words symbolized, and as a result I found, that I could build names that had a meaning.

How to use this fantasy and fairy name creator.

The categories below can be found in a female and male version!

There is only one list of adjectives. Adjectives are words that express an attribute of something. This list of words can be used for both female and male names.

This is an example of names you could create if you had chosen the male animal inspired name Hawk, and combined it with some of the other categories.

Use the words "the" or "of" to create some interesting variations of names or add "ing" at the end of your chosen name.
